Introduction Ski Touring Mountain Guide Zermatt

You can learn the following skills:

• How to put on an avalanche transceiver (beacon) and to check it
• How to put on skins and crampons for skis
• How to use a touring binding
• Walking technique with skins and touring bindings
• Basics for setting up a trail
• Information about ski touring gear
• Tips and tricks

Requirements:
Good health and fitness, good skiing technique.

Standard:
CHF 620.00 for 1 or 2 people, for every additional person a fee of CHF 40.00 per person will be charged.

Peak Season:
22nd December 2024 – 4th January 2025 / 9th February – 4th March 2025 / 13th April – 26th April 2025.
CHF 680.00 for 1 or 2 people, for every additional person a fee of CHF 50.00 per person will be charged.

Services:
Mountain guide for about 5 hours of training including a small skitour.

You need the following equipment for Introduction Ski Touring:

Compulsory Equipment:
Rucksack with ski fixing system – Strap to tie the ski tips together – Skis with touring bindings* – Ski Touring boots* – Skins* – Ski-crampons (Harscheisen)* – Ski poles* – Lightweight shovel* – Probes* – Avalanche transceiver* – Skiwear – Warm hat – Sunglasses – Snack – Flask or water bottle, about 1 Litre, no camel bag – Personal medication.

Nice to have:
Goggles – Camera (small and light) – Compeed, second skin, sport tape – Pocket knife – Toilet paper – Helmet* – Airbag* – Spare gloves – Facemask – Sun hat – Sun screen factor >25 – Lip balm factor >15 – Compeed, Secondskin, Sporttape – Notepad and pen.

Items with a * can be rented.

Please note:
Everything you bring with you, you have to carry it by yourself. Try to be as light as possible.
